UNDEFINED

“Well you don’t know much about me.  I’ll explain it as best I can…”

The song played in the kitchen as dinner wound to a close.  They listened to the melody, the harmony, its lyrics, and the song added further calm to an already peaceful room.

Listening to their sound, the little boy asked, “What are they?”

            “Country!” his sister exclaimed.

Unconvinced, the little boy and girl looked to their father to give finality to the question.

“l don’t know,” their father answered.  “I just know I like it.  Not everything needs a label. If you know you like it, sometimes that’s enough.  Just enjoy it…whatever it is.”

“Guess I don’t know anything about it.  Guess I thought you were preaching to an empty room, and I’ll tell you how I feel, but I don’t want to speak too soon; and I just pray it’s all true…”—Wild Rivers, “Speak Too Soon”
