ETERNAL LOVE

“In the spiritual body man actually appears as he is, with respect to love and faith; for every one in the spiritual world is the likeness of his love, not only as to the face and body, but even as to speech and actions.  Hence it is that the true qualities are known, and their instantaneous separation is effected.”—Emanuel Swedenborg, Last Judgment

For seventeen years, he waited—an eternity within another—gazing upon her through eyes of accomodant souls.  He watched as her body aged, the weathering and wear of vessel before final breaking and release of all within.

For seventeen years, he waited: soul fixed to Her, and in daybreak dawn to season of eternal spring, she was present once again, adorned in visage of age and spirit when all of life is bloom.  She was more than presence.  She was more than spirit.  She was completion to his soul.

Of soul, he smiled, his own spirit restored and held in like-age of eternal bloom: love, and joy embodied in fruition of prayer, hope, and lives lived in such.  He saw Her soul as, in life, he perceived.

Together again, he smiled entirely as soul, “You are even more beautiful than I believed.”

Together they glowed as Light of an eternal love.
