LIGHT AND WONDER

Not every day is Light and Wonder; not every dawn a revelation.  Still, there holds beauty to be found in the act of presence to what the world will show.

It is another cool morning.  Dawn sun conceals behind low clouds, and its light filters through built and broken layers of a Heaven bearing shapes but no storms.  The sun will further rise, world warm ever more, and I will work the fields beginning soon and run until after sun has set.

My labor is a common, archaic act, but I find joy in it the same.  Like the world and sky and light, I do not believe something must be young, new, or novel to hold beauty.  To me, timeless possesses great beauty.  I believe it is by, and through, their beauty that the timeless endures eternal.

Not every day is Light and Wonder, but there is beauty still to be seen; not always in the marvelous and magnificent, but in the simple and common sights that everywhere surround us.  God is ever as much in them as the moments that strike our souls in splendor.  I will think on this today as I work the earth and read and think on skies as the tractor keeps its mechanic, steady pace.

Not every day is Light and Wonder.  As I leave my home, I accept today that Wonder will not show; but Wonder is a product of mystery.

We can write it off, accept its absence, and proceed in the banality of what this world labels everyday, and just as we have given up—but still hold secretly to Hope—it appears.  In this lies the Magic and Mystery.
