MOVE

I feel better when I move—run or exercise.  I should remember this more when I’m unhappy, unsettled, bothered, or in perceive something is off.

Maybe it isn’t in my head, nor spirit or the soul.  Maybe it isn’t something heavy—transcendent or existential.  Maybe truth and answer are much simpler.

Maybe I just need to move—expend effort in an action with after-sign of achievement and accomplishment.

Static, nothing changes: we have to move for that.

I don’t know why I forgot this simple truth I’ve known for most my life; but I remember now.  I make use of mornings and when day begins, rather than feeling tired from run into full days in fields and sun, I harbor an energy I lacked—weird how that works.

Maybe the problems of the mind, spirit, and soul are not a pandemic of mental health as we are preached and sold today.  Maybe we’re just lethargic, idle, and still to degrees of which we were never meant to be.  Maybe the solution isn’t treatment: further attention and analysis of examen without action.

Maybe we just need to move: exercise to exorcise demons of sloth that wreak havoc in head.  Get outside of mind and exercise.  Then return.  See if there’s a difference.

We were never meant to be all mind or all body.  We are a living being, spirit and soul, composed and shaped by both.

If unhappy where or as you are—move.  Nothing changes staying still.

I feel better when I move.

               Maybe you will too.
