Returned from country home and hide and rest away from city, they discovered in time away the miracle that became.
Darkness turned to light, in accordance with the vision, there was a newness to home—its ambiance and spirit—and degree of effect from so small of change, he was amazed.
In the morning hour of breaking light, he read at island place looking out unto the open home emptied and cleared making way for the working.
He read from his missal of the Luminous Mysteries as he prayed the morning glow of rose and peach in waking like fruit and flowers of the dawning spring. He read from the Missal’s reflection of the Feast of Cana, Jesus’ first miracle and manifest of all to come.
He read:
“Our Lady was a guest at one of those noisy country weddings attended by people from many different villages. Mary was the only one who noticed the wine was running out. Don’t these scenes from Christ’s life seem familiar to us? The greatness of God lives at the level of ordinary things. It is natural for a woman, a homemaker, to notice an oversight, to look after the little things that make life pleasant. And that is how Mary acted…And the miracle takes place. Everything is so simple and ordinary…What is commonplace becomes something extraordinary, something supernatural, when we have the good will to heed what God is asking of us…”
And it was so.
Amazed at the words, their moment of find, as he looked on workings and change of the miracle around.
Reflecting, musing, he returned and read again.
The greatness of God lives at the level of ordinary things. It is natural for a woman, a homemaker, to notice an oversight, to look after the little things that make life pleasant. And that is how Mary acted…And the miracle takes place. Everything is so simple and ordinary…
Fair of the floor and its catch of the dawn reflecting and softening light and hues, like underbelly of cloud, or mirror of water beneath, he was amazed, affected, and awed in the wonder and miracle of such small change.
Notice of an oversight…the little things that make life pleasant… So it was and lived.
He felt his smile widen and warmth of glow in cheeks that came in love and admiration.
Fourth mystery, he heard her rise and footsteps in floor above.
Arrived, she entered and came to him—beautiful and radiant—in the openness of space.
She kissed his lips and they were warm, and he felt their delicate in linger on his after as she watched her move, lithe in grace, fluid amongst the light and openness of room.
Fourth Mystery, light outside transformed in further rising of the sun—rose and peach of gentle light becoming brilliant gold.
Illumined in the sun and light that cast upon, smile in face and eyes and all her spirit: she transfigured then before him. Her face shone like the sun, and her garments became white as light.
Amazed, affected, awed: he gazed with love and wonder on the miracle that became.
