Busy work.
I resent it with my life—because that is the cost. Be purposeful, work purposeful. If there is no purpose to the labor beyond staying on a clock, or killing time—go live life. You don’t get it back, and there is nothing good for the soul in wasting time and life in an idleness masked in “busyness.”
If you want to be idle—be idle in an enjoyment and an action of living; not something that suppresses these in pretending and deference to an urgency that is not.
To do so leads to resentment—to yourself, to the labor, and for whom it is performed.
Work when it is time, and when it’s not—get on to the greater meanings we are gifted time to live.
Don’t waste the gift in killing of time that is this moment we call Life.
Live.
