“The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”—Matthew 20:28
_____
Last line of today’s Gospel, in reflection, I ask:
How do we serve? Whom do we serve? What ways do we share, give outward of ourselves in actions of love and sacrifice?
Is it enough?
I wonder.
God knows. We don’t. Still, we pray and try.

I prayed the Rosary this morning. Wednesdays, we reflect on the Glorious Mysteries. In contemplation of each mystery—questioning—my answer is the same.
How did Christ resurrect from the dead?
I don’t know, but I believe.
How did Christ Ascend direct from this world into Heaven?
I don’t know, but I believe.
How did the Holy Spirit descend upon the Apostles and allow them to speak in tongues, each pilgrim hearing message in tongue of their own land?
I don’t know, but I believe.
How was Mary, like her son, carried into Heaven in Assumption…
I don’t know, but I believe.
…then Coronated and crowned in Heaven as the Blessed Mother of Christ?
I don’t know, but I believe.
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven…”[i]
I do not know, but I believe.
To become as a child: Faith, Hope, Trust, and Belief in what we do not understand.
