PEOPLED OUT

        Worn out.

        Peopled out.

        Tired.

He rested alone in recliner chair.

Laundry machine whirred and zipper, button, or loose change from pocket clinked in the dryer’s run.  He didn’t want the sound.

He wanted silence.  He rose and shut laundry room door, and though not silent, the sound was less.

He rested, paused, alone for a while in time to decompress from day and crowds and late night commotion for a whole home decoding late and sudden to go to a high school game.

He was peopled out and stayed behind—needing quiet and time in mind.  And so he rested, recliner chair—closing eyes—slowing self and mind, restoring to peace again.
