In middle February, warm front arrived and amidst they lived a Lover’s Spring—too soon, premature by world and ration’s measure but by trust, belief, and will of the spirit becomes, as experience, all the same.
Limbs of the trees stayed barren, swells of dormant buds small and closed and saved; but there was warmth in the air, and that was enough to bring about their spirit-bloom.
They walked together open streets, walled fronts of cement and sharp-edged stone, gray and near to white that, despite the plain, radiated warmth of sun in Lover’s Spring.
She dressed as spirit’s bloom, white sharp tapered blouse held closed by five petaled flower, high shorts of matching white and boots of same, with pointed toes, rising over nearly all her legs; stripe of her winter skin between leather rise and shorts’ end, near entire covered under blouse.
In light of the sun, vigor of walk, skin toned in pink of first-spring blossoms, vitality of heat’s rise and blood’s rush through translucence of her fine, fair skin. To sight, in vigor, his own heart pulsed strong.
She was in her joy and he in his: outdoor living’s inspire and return. Upon the street, in turn of a corner, concealed to all it seemed; he stole a kiss—holding, spinning, pressing smooth into sharp edge of white stone wall behind.
He kissed her as rains in spring’s begin—strong in beginning, gentle in end like the Heaven-fall—that left her warmed and more alive.
In intimate of moment, corner’s conceal and his body’s cover from all other’s sight, he drew her blouse gentle to side bringing white of her breast and bud of her end into open sun. He touched her gentle, both smiling on sight and sense before return of eyes in stare and wonder in others. Play and tease of his touch remained. Bud swelled and enlivened, deeper hue, in wake to touch and light.
He kissed her back in spring rain’s end, gentle as bud expanded.
Smile on lips, smile in eyes, he covered her back away as hand in hand, looking high upon blessing of sun, they waked in joy and spirit-bloom of their living Lover’s Spring.
