MYSTIC-CALL

“The sense of complete surrender to a larger life and greater power, of which love is the very substance and ground, is characteristic of nearly all high mystical experience…In this state…“the thirst of the spirit is suddenly fulfilled by the Infinite,” and “God takes possession of the ground of the soul, without passage of time or feeling of space.”  Then, the bewilderment and unrest produced in us by the disharmonies of daily life are healed.”—Evelyn Underhill, The Essentials of Mysticism

“THE UNIVERSE IS ON YOUR SIDE.”

Message read, spoke, and she felt it then absent explanation.  Mind and spirit drew afar.

She dreamt a desert—white open sands and mountain-visions in the distance as she felt Universe’s energy-speak—its pull and call at soul to a something there; a something wanting noticed, learned, and found.

She went within—into the vision—to better feel and find the purpose that was there—message in stir and wake that through prism of the would distill, distinguish, into different lights and paint sense and order of the mystery.

She felt her spirit rise, carried into vision, at submission to the preternatural.

Through prism of soul, colors burst vivid into soul-see, and she knew that she must go.

Soon—again into the desert, again into the wilderness where answer and treasure waited.

In vision, she walked with arms wide open in answer to invitation stepping ever outward into expanse and the wild-open.

This was her call, call of mystic, as beckoned to the many-few throughout mankind and its history.

She, another spirit of the line: beckoned and invited into the hinterlands of transcendent and sublime into adventure of the spirit: magic, mystery, and inspiration of the mystic-call onward unto open-souled wonder and revelation.

The Universe was on her side.  This she knew and never doubted.
