“I don’t want to go back,” he spoke.
Neither did she.
They sat on porch of the oaken home at evening shade amongst yellow of light and lawn and leaves.
“Am I lazy?” he asked. “Am I missing something or absent a desire I should have?”
“No,” she answered in conciliation. “I don’t think you’re missing anything. I believe you found what you were seeking. You’ve found peace. Your desire’s met. What do you have to prove? What more do you need to find?
It’s alright to be happy and grateful—so be.”
She smiled in a meekness that is love without effort, and from the green gold shone through in the autumn of her eyes.
He held to her more closely in sit upon his lap, heat of her living warmth to his as they rested in their peace and see of yellow visions: Heaven in Nature all around.
