SPIRIT FLAME

Night lived and candle burned, opening in melt and deep-heart glow of amber light that danced in gentle wave, softly, as bodies’ shadow over wall; rise and fall and sway of ride and brace and fall above; melt in warmth of holding flame in loveliness of tempered, kept, heart-luminescence.

Alive in the amber glow, their bodies kept in tempered, focused energy release; love, like light, as flicker-effects, steadying sway of swells and wanes and flutter-failings that scattered light and focus’-hold like wind or breath upon wick’s flame.  Opening, deepening, glowing greater in their being, candle burned beside as skin and bodies lit in its amber grace and, too, in each other’s caress and holding ways.

Together, they burned, held, and exhausted as candle’s heart deepened, its glow through fair telling through rose-glowed skin of candle-sides hollowing and thinning in heat and melt of flame within; and like the light, keeping, they burn and light and release until every energy was freed: melt and exhaust, wane of last soft then ending flicker into complete exhaustion; not an extinguishing or putting out, but there being nothing more, no further energy to give, release, keep and sustain the flame.

Bodies, spirit, heart within gasped sweet in night’s final breath of glow and dance from love and melt of affection’s touch; every energy saved and stored—potential made kinetic—in take and hold and keep of flame releasing spirit’s light.

In the morning, unlike candle to their side, well into sun’s morning light—gone through gloam and gold and into high-sky blue—they restored.  New candles, new energy, same potential made kinetic.

They touched.  They took.  They burned in loveliness of light and dance and glow of deepened hearts illumed in spirits’ share.
